Veteran actress Tabassum Govil, 78, died on Friday evening (November 18) from cardiac arrest in Mumbai, according to news agency ANI. Shortly after the news broke, celebrities from across the industry paid tribute to the late actress on social media. Akshay Kumar’s wife, Twinkle Khanna, shared a moving post on her Instagram which read, “It was truly a legend. When I was a kid, I used to watch Phool Khile Hain Gulshan Gulshan with Tabassum ji as the spectacular host. I don’t remember his guests. Just her. With his nose and the rose behind his ear. All these fuzzy memories enveloped me like layers of cashmere on a winter morning. May she rest in peace.”
Shortly after Twinkle Khanna shared the post, Farah Khan Ali, in the comments section, wrote, “May she RIP. Remember her so vividly. #TabassumRIP.”

Tabassum Govil on Friday night suffered his first heart attack around 8:40 p.m., followed by another at 8:42 p.m., according to news agency ANI. The legendary actress had been suffering from health issues for a few days.
According to the late actor’s son, Hoshang Govil, it was his mother’s wish not to tell anyone about his death until his final rites had been performed. The family revealed that their last rites were performed in Mumbai on Saturday, according to news agency ANI.
Kiran Bala Sachdeva, who was popularly known by her stage name Tabassum, was an actress, talk show host, and YouTuber. She began her career as a child actress Baby Tabassum in 1947. She was best known for her performance on the television show Phool khile hain gulshan gulshan. She has also acted in films such as Baiju Bawra, Phir Wohi Dil Laya Hoon and much more.
